What information do I need to provide to someone trying to pay me?
You or your customers will need to provide the payer with:
- The legal name of the account owner
- Sort code
- Account number
- Account type (business or personal)
The legal name of the account owner may be:
- Individual. The full legal name of the account owner. Nicknames are not guaranteed to match.
- Business. The legal business name as registered with Companies House, and as appears on invoices. Trading names are not guaranteed to match.
- Sole trader. The full, personal legal name of the sole trader, e.g. the name that appears on invoices. Trading names are not guaranteed to match.
