Why do you ask for US citizenship?
To comply with the United States' FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) requirements, we must be able to determine if an individual is a US citizen. If they are, we must also collect their US tax identification number (TIN).
US citizens abroad must have their accounts reported to the Inland Revenue Service (IRS), even if they are tax residents outside of the US.
